My Fountain Pen Daily Drivers

A fountain pen question of the day was posted on Mastodon recently:

"What are your daily drivers—pens that you do most of your writing with on a daily basis? What makes them the best for daily use?"

I replied there, but I thought I'd also post here also:

I have too many pens that I consider my daily drivers, but let me pick my top 5:

  • BENU Euphoria (M)

  • Lamy Lx (custom ground italic)

  • Laban Skeleton (Kaigelu long blade)

  • Pilot Capless Fermo (M)

  • Pilot E95s (M)

Overhead shot of 5 fountain pens: BENU Euphoria Iced Caramel Latte, Lamy Lx Marron, Laban Skeleton Rainbow, Pilot Capless Fermo Dark Blue, Pilot E95s Burgundy

They all have great nibs, are paired with lovely inks I like to write with, and have cool pen designs that make me happy to use them.

My runners-up are the

  • TWSBI GO (F)

  • TWSBI Diamond 580 (M)

  • Jinhao X159 (EF)

Top 5:

  • Pilot E95s, M, Diamine Iris

  • Pilot Capless Fermo, M, Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa

  • Laban Skeleton, Kaigelu long blade, Sailor Shikiori Chushu

  • Lamy Lx, custom italic, Diamine Deck the Halls

  • BENU Euphoria, M, Troublemaker Milky Ocean

Runners-up:

  • Jinhao X159, EF, Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo

  • TWSBI Diamond 580, M, Diamine Arctic Blast

  • TWSBI GO, F, Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Bordeaux

I have so many pens currently inked up (~18 or 19), and they're all sitting within easy reach so I can use whatever I feel like using when I journal or do any other writing. But the above 8 are what I pick up most *right now*. This could change in a few days, weeks, months.

P.S. The newly launched Penfount community (history here) on Mastodon is great. Feel free to check out posts here, if you're interested.
