The Ink
Day 24: Sugar Snap - Shimmer
Once again, I got spoiled on the name of the ink before it was time for me to open my Inkvent calendar. But the name confused me: Sugar Snap. It only brought “sugar snap peas” to mind, and those did not seem to have anything to do with Christmas. I thought maybe I was thinking of the wrong sugar snaps, and there is something else more on theme, but no, once I saw the dark yellow-green color, the vegetable was the intended subject. I still don’t understand how this relates to Christmas, though. 🤷♀️
Regardless, I happen to like this “natural” yellow-green (a couple people on IG described it as “natural” and I think this is apt) color. I will definitely use it for a spring ink.
The first similar ink I thought of was J Herbin Vert Atlantide, but it is more gray and blue, and its shimmer is more of a champagne color.
Last year’s Inkvent had Alpine, a dark green with silver shimmer, but the green is too dark, not enough yellow to brighten the base color up.
Troublemaker Kelp Tea has a similar yellow-green base color, but with pink and brown tones added.
Finally, Robert Oster Muddy Grass is too brown/khaki, but I think still fits into a “natural colors” family along with Sugar Snap.

I don’t know about you, but watching Die Hard on Christmas Eve is a tradition. So of course I had to choose a famous scene from the movie for today’s quote!
